熱帶氣旋警告信號	定義	注意事項	本校安排
一號風球	這是戒備信號，表示有一熱帶氣旋集結於香港800公里的範圍內，可能影響本港。	如擬外出，應緊記有一熱帶氣旋正接近本港，稍後可能影響你的計劃。留意電台及電視台有關颱風最新情況的報告。	照常上課
三號風球	維多利亞港內現正或預料會吹強風，持續風力達每小時41至62公里，陣風更可能超過每小時110公里。3號熱帶氣旋警告信號發出後12小時之內，海港附近區域的風力普遍會加強。	應把一切容易被風吹倒的物件綁緊，特別是露台或屋頂上的物件。花盆及其他易於吹走的物件應搬往屋內。圍板、棚架和臨時搭建物應綁牢。溝渠應保持暢通，以免淤塞溢流。留意電台及電視台有關颱風的進一步消息。	除非另行通知，學校照常上課。
八號風球	維多利亞港內現正或預料會有烈風或暴風從信號所示方向吹襲，持續風力達每小時63至117公里，陣風更可能超過每小時180公里。	在烈風吹襲前，應先做妥一切防風措施。鎖緊門窗，把門閂閂好，窗板或大閘上牢。當風的大玻璃窗應加貼膠紙，減少玻璃破裂時所引致的損傷。不要站近當風的窗隻。把家具及貴重物件搬離風口位。萬一窗隻被強風吹破，確保仍有一個安全地方暫避，故應早點決定萬一當風的窗隻破裂時，哪一個房間可作棲身之用。光管招牌負責人須安排截斷招牌的電力供應。車輛應停泊在最不容易遭受破壞的地方。	學校停課
九號風球	烈風或暴風的風力現正或預料會顯著加強。	切勿外出。遠離當風的門窗，以免被風中的碎片擊中。鎖緊屋內的門戶，並確保小童安置在家中最不當風的地方。切勿觸摸被風吹鬆的電纜。窗門如被風吹毀，應待情況安全時才修補。如不在家中，應立即找一個安全地方暫避，直至颱風過後為止。
十號風球	風力現正或預料會達到颶風程度，持續風力達每小時118公里或以上，陣風更可能超過每小時220公里。	防風措施與上述相同。切記當風眼正面掠過香港時，風勢可能會靜止一段時間。由數分鐘至數小時不等。市民應保持戒備，因為強風可能會從另一個方向突然吹襲。如果所在地點安全，應繼續留在原處，以防強風隨時吹襲。

暴雨警告

暴雨警告訊號	定義	注意事項	本校安排
黃色暴雨訊號	表示香港廣泛地區已錄得或預料會有每小時雨量超過30毫米的大雨，且雨勢可能持續。	‧市民應採取預防措施，以減少因大雨引發的危險，例如水淹。 ‧家長、學生、學校當局和校車司機應留意電台或電視台有關最新天氣、道路和交通情況的廣播。 ‧參加公開考試人士應如常應考，但須留意電台或電視台的廣播，以防天氣突趨惡化。 ‧農民及魚塘負責人，特別是其農田或魚塘位處低窪地帶或經常出現水淹地區者，應採取預防措施，包括檢查及清理農田或魚塘內及附近的排水系統，確保所有溝渠暢通，俾能盡量減少損失。可能的話，魚塘負責人應把可能出現水淹的魚塘水位降低。	(除教育統籌局特別宣布停課外)本校照常上課。
紅色暴雨訊號	表示香港廣泛地區已錄得或預料會有每小時雨量超過50毫米的大雨，且雨勢可能持續。	‧在空曠地方工作的人士應暫停戶外作業，直至天氣情況許可為止。 ‧市民如須外出，應先仔細考慮天氣及道路情況是否許可。 ‧如「紅」色信號在上班前發出，而交通服務正常，則僱員應照常上班。如僱員確實遇上困難而不能準時上班，主管人員應採取開明態度處理。 ‧如「紅」色信號在上班時間內發出，戶內工作人士應如常當值，除非工作地點可能有危險。如僱員工作地區的交通服務即將停頓，主管人員可因應實際情況考慮讓員工提早離開工作地方。在作出這個決定時，主管人員應考慮天氣及道路情況。	(i) 在06:15a.m.前發出	全日停課
			(ii)在06:15a.m.至08:00a.m.發出	(a)無須上課。 (b)校舍開放，並有教職員照顧已回到學校的學生，直至正常放學時間，並在安全的情況下，始讓學生回家。 (c)未離家上學的學生應留在家中。
			(iii)在08:00a.m.後發出	本校繼續上課，直至正常放學時間，並在安全的情況下始讓學生回家。
黑色暴雨訊號	表示香港廣泛地區已錄得或預料會有每小時雨量超過70毫米的豪雨，且雨勢可能持續。	‧市民應留在戶內，並到安全地方暫避，直至大雨過去。 ‧在空曠地方工作的人士應停止戶外作業，並到安全地方暫避。 ‧市民如無法找到安全地方，可到民政事務總署轄下的臨時庇護中心暫避。 ‧政府呼籲僱主不應要求僱員上班，除非有關暴雨時的工作安排已有事先協定。 ‧如果僱員已經上班，便應留在原來工作地點，除非該處會有危險。	(安排與紅色暴雨訊號相同)

新界北部發生水浸

校長將根據過往經驗，評估水浸對本學校所帶來的影響，並在能聯絡渠務署的情況下，徵詢該署的意見後，
決定在水浸布告發出後是否停課。

Tropical Cyclones

Tropical Cyclones Signal	Definition	Precautions	School Arrangement
Signal No. 1	This is a stand-by signal, indicating that a tropical cyclone is centred within 800 km of Hong Kong and may affect the territory.	If you are planning an outing, remember that there is a tropical cyclone near Hong Kong which may affect your plans later. Listen to radio and TV broadcasts on the progress of the storm.	Our school is to operate as usual.
Signal No. 3	Strong winds are expected or blowing in Victoria Harbour, with a sustained speed of 41-62 km/h (kilometres per hour). Gusts may exceed 110 km/h. Winds are normally expected to become generally stronger in the harbour areas within 12 hours after the issuing of this signal.	Secure all loose objects, particularly those on balconies and rooftops. Flower pots and other objects likely to be blown away should be taken indoors. Secure hoardings, scaffoldings and temporary structures. Drains should be cleared to avoid blockage and overflows. Listen to radio and TV announcements for further information about the storm.	Our school is to operate as usual unless advised therwise. Please pay attention to the announcements made by EMB.
Signal No. 8	Gale or storm force winds are expected or blowing in Victoria Harbour, with a sustained wind speed of 63-117 km/h from the quarter indicated. Gusts may exceed 180 km/h.	Complete all precautions now before gales commence. Lock all windows and doors. Fit bars into positions and insert reinforced shutters and gates if available. Adhesive tape fixed to large window panes in exposed positions will reduce damage by broken glass. Do not stand near windows on the exposed side of your home. Move all furniture and valuables away from these areas. Make sure you have a safe place to shelter, should windows be broken. Now is the time to decide which rooms you will use to shelter if the windows on the exposed side of your home become broken. Owners of neon signs should arrange for the electricity supply to their signs to be switched off. Park your car where it is least likely to be damaged.	Our school is to close.
Signal No. 9	Gale or storm force winds are increasing or expected to increase significantly in strength.	Stay indoors. Stay away from exposed windows and doors to avoid flying debris. Close all interior doors and make sure children are confined to the least exposed part of your home. Do not touch electrical cables that have been blown loose. You should fix broken windows and doors only when there is no danger in doing so. If you are away from home, find a safe place and remain there until the danger is over.
Signal No. 10	Hurricane force winds are expected or blowing. Sustained wind speeds are reaching upwards from 118 km/h. Gusts may exceed 220 km/h.	The same precautions as above apply. Remember that if the eye of the typhoon passes directly over Hong Kong, there may be a temporary lull lasting a few minutes to several hours. Do not relax your guard, as there will be a sudden resumption of violent winds from a different direction. Remain where you are if protected and be prepared for destructive winds.

Rainstorm Warning

AMBER RAINSTORM SIGNAL	Heavy rain has fallen or is expected to fall generally over Hong Kong, exceeding 30 millimetres in an hour, and is likely to continue.	Members of the public should take necessary precautions to reduce their exposure to risk posed by heavy rain, such as flooding. Parents, students, school authorities and school-bus drivers should listen to radio or television announcements on the weather, road and traffic conditions. Candidates for public examinations should attend the examination as normal, but should listen to radio or watch television in case the weather deteriorates suddenly. Farmers and fish pond owners, particularly those in low lying or flood frequented areas, should take the necessary precautions to minimise losses, which include checking and clearing the drainage system within and around the farm/fish ponds to ensure that all the drains are not blocked. Where possible, fish pond operators should reduce the water level of ponds which are likely to be flooded.	Unless the Education and Manpower Bureau has made special announcement on closure of schools, our school will operate as usual.
RED RAINSTORM SIGNAL	Heavy rain has fallen or is expected to fall generally over Hong Kong, exceeding 50 millimetres in an hour, and is likely to continue.	Employees working outdoors in areas exposed to rain should suspend outdoor duties if weather conditions in those areas so warrant. People who have to travel should carefully consider weather and road conditions. If the RED signal is issued before working hours, employees should report for duty as usual, provided that transport services are available. Supervisors are encouraged to adopt a flexible attitude in case their staff have genuine difficulties in arriving at work on time. If the RED signal is issued during office hours, employees working indoors should remain on duty as usual unless it is dangerous to do so. Employees in areas where transport services are about to be suspended can be exceptionally released at the discretion of the supervisor. In exercising their discretion, supervisors should take into account the weather and road conditions.	(i) Before 06:15a.m.	Our school will be closed all day.
			(ii)06:15a.m. -- 08:00a.m.	(a) There will be no lessons. (b) Our premises wil be open and there will be staff who will look after those students who have left home for the school until the end of normal school hours. Students will be allowed to return home when the conditions is safe. (c) Students who have not left for school should stay home.

BLACK RAINSTORM SIGNAL	Very heavy rain has fallen or is expected to fall generally over Hong Kong, exceeding 70 millimetres in an hour, and is likely to continue.	Stay indoors or take shelter in a safe place until the heavy rain has passed. Employees working outdoors in exposed areas should stop work and take shelter. People having no safe place to go may take temporary refuge in any of the special temporary shelters opened by the Home Affairs Department. Employers are advised not to require their employees to go to work unless prior agreement on work arrangements during rainstorms has been made. People who are already at work should stay where they are unless it is dangerous to do so.	(Arrangements are the same as that of RED RAINSTORM SIGNAL)

Flooding in Northern New Territories

Our headmaster will assess the vulnerability to flooding on the basis of past experience and with the advice from the Drainage Services Department where it is available, and decide whether our school should be closed when a “special announcements of flooding in the low-lying northern New Territories” (SAFNNT) is issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.
